«Gold Rush» at the Checkpoint

«Gold Rush» at the Checkpoint

On July 12, 2021, border guards at the "Kairak" automobile checkpoint (Kostanay region), using technical means of inspection, at the Russian citizen "B", who was heading to the territory of the Russian Federation, found a gold bar made by handicraft, with a total weight of 120 grams, in the back of a car.

The detained and smuggled cargo was transferred to the Department of Economic Investigations in the Kostanay region for further verification.

Over the past week, this is the second case of an attempt to export homemade gold bars through the “Kairak” checkpoint.

Recall that earlier on July 8, 2021, the export of 325 grams of gold was prevented.

Border control on the alert!
