A Training of Trainers (ToT) program has started in Astana as part of the project “Creating an Integrated Primary Health Care System (BaSIC)” with the support of ACQH.

On September 8, 2025, the opening of the Training of Trainers (ToT) program took place in Astana within the framework of the international project “Creating an Integrated Primary Health Care System in Tajikistan (BaSIC).”

The event was organized by the Accreditation Center in Healthcare (ACQH) with the participation of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Tajikistan in Kazakhstan, the Social Health Insurance Fund, and the Akmola Region Health Department.

The first day’s program was dedicated to the basics of healthcare quality and accreditation. Participants reviewed the key concepts of “quality” and “patient safety” according to WHO and ISQua standards, discussed the role of accreditation in risk reduction, and analyzed the national accreditation system. A presentation was delivered by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aimanov N.B., who shared Kazakhstan’s experience in the quality control of primary health care services.

The day concluded with the presentation of the national challenge “Patient Safety from the Start” as part of World Patient Safety Day and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between ACQH and the NGO “DOM” under the project “Patient as Partner.”

Over the course of five days, participants will engage in practical sessions, exchange experiences between experts from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, discuss international standards for quality and patient safety, develop competencies for accreditation experts, and create joint recommendations for the integration of primary health care services. The final day will be devoted to summarizing results and forming plans for further cooperation.
