PRESS RELEASE National Seminar on Improvement and Sustainability of the Authorized Economic Operator Program in the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Countries

Astana, Kazakhstan, from 13 to 14 August 2024, with the support of the Asian Development Bank (hereinafter referred to as ADB), a National Seminar on Enhancement and Sustainability of the AEO Program in CAREC was held under the chairmanship of Acting Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeldos Saudabayev.

Representatives of the customs services of the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, the People's Republic of China, as well as the revenue services of Georgia and ADB AEO experts took part in this seminar.

During the seminar, issues such as optimization of the processes of inclusion in the AEO register, preliminary training of companies applying for AEO status, and mutual recognition of the AEO program were discussed.

Following the seminar, representatives of the above-mentioned customs services noted that the AEO program is a powerful tool for facilitating international trade, improving the security of supply chains and strengthening cooperation between customs authorities and the business community.
