A literary, historical and illustrative book "Dostyk Customs" at the Dzungarian Gate" has recently been published, which analyses in detail the history of the creation of Dostyk customs in the south-east of the country.

The cover of the book reads: "This book is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 30th anniversary of the formation of customs authorities."

The author of the book is a veteran of the customs service, an outstanding worker of the state revenue bodies Beken Nurakhmetov. The author started his career 29 years ago at this customs office and very skillfully used all the facts and data, as well as historical photographs.

The book, along with the positive changes that have taken place at the customs for thirty years, truthfully describes the difficulties that it faced. In particular, the history of formation of customs is infused with the destinies of its employees, such as heads of customs authorities, respected citizens representing customs, the work of customs officers, athletes who defended the honor of customs, colleagues who retired from customs, customs officers who received state awards, other interesting stories and different destinies.

At the same time, the book describes the climate pattern of the area, in particular, the wind blowing at the "Dzungarian Gate" at a speed of 25-30 meters per second for 300 days a year and provides successful comparisons of the state of customs thirty years ago and today's.

In addition, the trend of customs development based on the requirements of the conventions of the World Trade Organization and the World Customs Organization and other international organizations is systematically outlined.

Cargo transportation at Dostyk customs in 1992 exceeded 730 thousand tons, in 2020 - over 14 million tons. These data indicate that customs is developing from year to year, and similar indicators in the future will be higher than today.
