Please note that vehicles with registration plates of the Republic of Abkhazia and South Ossetia temporarily imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter - EEU) in the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Republic of Abkhazia and South Ossetia are not EEU goods and are under customs control.
According to paragraph 6 of Article 264 and paragraph 2 of Article 275 of Customs Code of EEC temporarily imported vehicles must be in the actual possession and use of the declarant (the person who carried out the import) on the customs territory of EEC.
In this regard, the Department of State Revenue in West Kazakhstan region recommends that citizens do not buy temporarily imported vehicles that are registered in the Republic of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and do not operate these vehicles without appropriate customs clearance procedures and the initial registration in the registration authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
