The Department of State Revenue for the East Kazakhstan Region informs that, starting from December 1, 2024, changes will be introduced to the rules for importing vehicles into the EAEU territory, provided that less than three years have passed since their manufacturing date.
In accordance with Clause 8 of the Customs union technical regulation «On the safety of wheeled vehicles», approved by the Decision of the Customs Union Commission No. 877 dated December 9, 2011, the documents confirming compliance with the requirements of the technical regulation during the release of vehicles into circulation, for which conformity assessment was carried out in the form of type approval, shall be the vehicle type approval certificate (hereinafter referred to as VTAC).
Moreover, according to the explanation provided by the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, vehicles manufactured less than three years ago and imported based on a VTAC may only be imported by the entities specified in the VTAC. These VTACs must be issued in accordance with subparagraph b) of Clause 10 of the Rules for importing products subject to mandatory conformity assessment into the customs territory of the EAEU, approved by the decision of the EEC Council No. 130 dated November 12, 2021.
It should be noted that the use of a VTAC is permitted only if the declarant of such products is an entity specified in the VTAC.
