Customs posts are upgraded

In order to develop the transit potential of the country and increase trade turnover with neighboring countries, the Government has launched a full-scale modernization of checkpoints on the border with the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

Modernization includes, in fact, construction of new checkpoints with the demolition of the old infrastructure, which did not meet modern requirements. This was announced by Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Birzhanov during a press conference at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For example, under the ongoing modernization, the Alakol automobile checkpoint is being built in a completely new place with a significant expansion of its territory.

In July 2023, inspection complex "Dostyk-Zheleznodorozhny" was put into operation.

Along with modernization, work is being done to digitalize and automate technical means of customs control (scales, ICs, barriers, etc.), within the framework of which centralized control of customs posts in the main dispatching office is planned.

The modernization will upgrade infrastructure  of checkpoints, create all conditions for convinient border crossing and high-quality state controls, expand from 2 to 6 lanes, increase capacity by 8 times and reduce border crossing time to 30 minutes by automating the entire cycle of movement of goods and vehicles
