Press release « Customs does good!»

20 June 2022

In April 2021, undeclared consumer goods in the amount of 982 positions with a customs value of 41920608, 14 tenge were seized at the «Bakhty» customs post.

The goods were in transit through the EEU to Hungary. An investigation was opened on this fact.

In pre-trial investigation, the Semey transport prosecutors’ office issued a decision which transferred consumer goods that were physical evidence to the SRD for the East Kazakhstan region for placement under the customs procedure of re-export.

However, neither the carrier nor the owner of the goods took measures to apply for the customs procedure of re-export.

Due to the failure to take measures, the goods were detained and placed in a temporary storage warehouse.

The Commission permanently operating in the Department decided to transfer the goods, suitable for further use and unsold by the authorized legal entity, free of charge to orphanages, old people's and nursing homes, kindergartens, schools, medical and social institutions or entities providing special social services through the local executive body.

On June 21, 2022, the goods from the temporary storage warehouse of LLP «Asia Service C» were transferred to representatives of 16 social institutions.
