VIEWS OF STUDENTS ABOUT CORRUPTION
A regional debate tournament for students of higher educational institutions and establishments of technical and professional education aimed at the formation of an anti-corruption culture was held at Semey University of Shakarim by the State Revenue Department for East Kazakhstan region and Public Foundation «Intellectual Youth Association».
Improvement of anti-corruption culture among young people is a key factor in the strategic development of the country. The purpose of the tournament is to promote zero tolerance for corruption among students, develop their civil position and form basic knowledge among young people in solving public issues
16 teams competed in the tournament played in the British parliamentary format.
The tournament was opened by Erik Tatubayev, Deputy Head of the State Revenue Department for the region. He noted: «Currently, the problem of corruption is relevant problem not only in the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also in all countries of the world. To create a real legal state, it is necessary to eradicate corruption. Therefore, we must start the fight against corruption, first of all, with our own!».
During the debate, the students argued about vital interests for the country: they discussed the urhgent problems of corruption, expressed their opinions and presented ways to solve current task of fighting corruption.
«Today we've tried to find effective mechanisms of intolerance to corruption. In a dispute, controversy served the cause of truth. I want to thank the organizers of the tournament for the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience by conducting polemics and discussion», - said Nurbakyt Isakhan, a participant of the tournament.
As pointed out by the main judge – Chairman of the Public Foundation «Intellectual Youth Association» Kuanysh Moldakashev, debate tournaments help to reveal the potential of young activists, to say politically competent and advocate for their point of view. Therefore, the debating is very important. Because young people are a country's future!».
According to the results of the tournament, the winner was the team «salauat-Parasat» (Ilyas Mukanov, Erkrbulan Khasanov). Finalists were: team «Ulagat» (Nursipat Zholdasova, Erkezhan Nasyrova», team «00447» (Erzhan Kabdylkakov, Nurbek Beisenov), team «Soile» (Ayaulym Balabek, Nurbakyt Isakhan).
During the tournament, the best speaker was recognized – Nurbakyt Isakhan. The best judge was coach of the debate club «Parasat» Raiymbek Omirbaev.
The organizers of the debate awarded the participants with cups, diplomas and valuable prizes.
