Customs post «Maikapchagay» hasn’t dropped its guard.

In February 2022, after a two-year break due to COVID-19, c/post « Maikapchagay » of SRD for EKR resumed its work.

The first month of work showed that the customs officers' skills are still so sharp – the effectiveness of customs inspections after end   of the incomplete quarter was 60%.

And in April of this year, the first resonant fact of a smuggling attempt was revealed by the employees of this post of the SRD for East Kazakhstan region.

The attention of customs officers was attracted by the pictures of the vehicle according to the results of control using a mobile inspection complex (MIC).

During the in-depth customs inspection, they were found and detained « optical sights for weapons» 5 types in the amount of 65 pieces that were not declared for customs clearance.

The vehicle was in transit to Europe and the identification of such a specific product by customs officers of one of the European states could significantly undermine the image of the Kazakh customs.

Currently, samples of the detained goods are sent for customs examination.
