Stop counterfeits.

It's no secret that the global market for counterfeit goods is constantly expanding. Dishonest manufacturers and suppliers of counterfeit goods are actively engaged in filling the Kazakh market with fakes.

At the same time, certain types of counterfeit goods not only undermine the legitimate interests of official manufacturers and the image of Kazakhstan in building mutually beneficial economic relations with partner states, but can also serve as a threat to the security of our citizens.

For example, the notorious «Chinese thing» within the market of motorcar spare parts is often not only a waste of money, but a threat to safety on our roads.

In this regard, the suppression of penetration of counterfeit products into the market of Kazakhstan is one of the priority tasks of the customs posts of our region.

So, in March and April of this year, employees of the SRD for East Kazakhstan region during customs control of goods imported from China at the customs post «Бахты» stopped 5 facts of importation of counterfeit products with trademarks included in the Unified Customs Register of Intellectual Property objects to the market of our state:

• Air filter «Hyundai», in the number of 1 800 pc;
• Air filter «TOYOTA», in the number of 5 224 pc;
• Air filter «Nissan», in the number of 180 pc;
• Air filter «AVTOVAZ», in the number of 1 400 pc;
• Laptop Power Adapter «Samsung», in the number of 100 pc.

When referring to  the copyright holders of the above trademarks, it was found that the detained goods are counterfeit, and the total damage caused to the copyright holders is more than 11.5 million tenge.

It should be noted that the illegal use of a trademark in accordance with Article 222 of the Criminal Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, if the damage caused exceeds 2,000 MCI, provides for criminal liability.
