Labelling of tobacco products

According the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated September 10, 2020 No. 568 «On determining the list of goods subject to labeling» other types of tobacco products, such as cigars, cigarillos and heated tobacco, etc. will be subject to mandatory labeling from April 1,

Labeling of tobacco products by means of identification ensures traceability of tobacco products from production/import to sale to the final consumer. With such labeling, consumers can get detailed information about the product.

In view of the exclusion of paper excise stamps, tobacco products will be marked exclusively by means of identification from January 1, 2022. 

A draft order «On amendments to the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan as of September 28, 2020 No. 927 «On approval of Rules for labeling and traceability of tobacco products» was developed to simplify business processes for retail sellers, in terms of working with labeled tobacco products.
