«Criteria for classifying goods transported across the EEU customs border as goods for personal use»

Classifying goods transported by individuals across the customs border as goods for personal use is carried out by the customs authority using a risk management system based on:

- Criteria for classifying goods as goods for personal use (statement of an individual about goods imported across the customs border of the EEU made orally or in writing using the passenger customs declaration);

 - cost, quantity and weight norms for the movement of goods for personal use with exemption from customs duties;

 - cases of customs duties exemption for certain categories of goods for personal use;

 - the procedure for the application of customs duties and taxes in respect of goods for personal use;

 - nature and quantity of goods;

 - frequency of an individual crossing the customs border of the EEU and (or) importing goods across the customs border of the EEU by this individual or to his/her address;

Thus, the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 31 March 2015 No. 250 «On establishing criteria for classifying goods transported by individuals across the customs border of the Customs Union as goods for personal use» (as amended by the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 11, 2017 No. 12) established the nature and quantity of goods, as well as the frequency of movement of goods.
