Customs operations performed in respect of goods for personal use

According Article 341 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Customs Regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan", customs operations in respect of goods for personal use, depending on the methods of their transport across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union, are performed at the places of movement of goods across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union or at the customs authority in the area of activity of which a person permanently or temporarily lives or temporarily resides, who may act as a declarant of such goods.

In case of failure to release the goods for personal use by the customs authority due to non-compliance with the release conditions and non-completion of customs operations in relation to the goods for personal use, such goods are detained by the customs authorities.
