A project on automation of railway transit has been launched

Together with the Ministry of Transport and JSC NC KTZ, a pilot project has been launched to automate railway transit, which is the automatic submission and issuance of transit declarations for goods transported by rail along the China– Central Asia and China–Europe routes. This was announced by Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Birzhanov during a press conference at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The pilot aims at transparency, acceleration and simplification of customs procedures, as well as optimization and improvement of the process of train movement through transit routes.
- elimination of corruption risks at checkpoints;
- significantly simplify the process of customs declaration of transit by introducing automatic registration and issuance of transit declarations;
- reduction of customs clearance time for one container train from 3 hours to 30 minutes;
- eliminate the marking of paper documents and ensure a phased transition to electronic document management during rail transportation;
This increases the transit potential of the State and will bring Kazakhstan closer to strengthening its position as a transit hub in Eurasia.
