In connection with the restrictions imposed on the export of foreign currency and gold bars, the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed persons leaving the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To avoid delays when crossing the state border, it is recommended to calculate in advance the amount of cash that you have with you (in your luggage) on the day of departure. Cash and monetary instruments in foreign currency shall not exceed the equivalent of 10,000 (ten thousand) US dollars at the rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also, you cannot carry (in your luggage) gold bars of refined gold 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 grams and investment coins made of gold "ALTYN BARYS" and silver "KÚMIS BARYS", issued by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as refined gold over 100 grams. The State Revenue Committee noted that in case of violation of the ban, persons will be held administratively or criminally liable in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In case of bringing to administrative responsibility individuals are imposed a fine in the amount of fifteen MCI (45.9 thousand tenge). Also, by a court decision, the specified money and goods can be confiscated to the state. The day before, Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 14, 2022 No. 830 “On measures to ensure the financial stability of the Republic of Kazakhstan” introduced a ban on the export of foreign currency, gold bars and coins from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
