Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan: About mobile payments and transfers

Currently, information is being distributed on the network with an appeal to abandon mobile transfers of persons engaged in private transportation and switch to cash. In this regard, the Ministry of Finance reports the following.

Amendments to the tax legislation regarding the use of mobile transfers are designed to separate private transfers of individuals from mobile payments that are carried out for business purposes. They have been repeatedly discussed with the business community and banks.

It should be noted that the purpose of these initiatives is the further development of business in the digital space and in no way pursues the goals of switching to cash.

Concerns about the transfer of data to the state revenue authorities are also groundless. Since from 2022 it is planned to receive information from banks only on payments received on business accounts. Thus, personal transfers will not be taxed.

We note that for the convenience of taxation of sole proprietors, there are several tax regimes from which you can choose a convenient one for yourself.

For example, taxi drivers can apply a special tax regime based on a patent. This mode is used for income not exceeding 10.3 million tenge per year.

Regarding the cash register. Now there are several mobile applications. An entrepreneur can download a mobile version of an online cash register and use it legally.

And tax reporting will be generated automatically with the introduction of the e-Salyq Business application.

All these measures are aimed at further simplifying the conduct of business.

Recall that individual entrepreneurs are exempt from paying income taxes until 2023 as part of the adopted moratorium.

We urge entrepreneurs to use only official information of authorized bodies.
