The fact of the export of 116 wagons with timber was stopped

From August 6 to August 10 of this year, employees of the Altynkol Zhol customs post of the State Revenue Department of the Almaty region, during customs control, stopped the fact of the export of 116 wagons with goods "logs", "birch logs" placed under the customs procedure of "export" from the Russian Federation to the People's Republic of China.

In accordance with the Order of the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 7, 2022 No. 322, a ban on export, regardless of the country of origin, from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for a period of 6 months has been established for these goods.

Untreated roundwood (HS 4403) can be exported from the territory of the Russian Federation only through two railway checkpoints (Luttia and Khasan) located on the state border of the Russian Federation with Finland and the DPRK, respectively.

Export of timber from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as transit through the Republic of Kazakhstan from the EAEU member states to non-EAEU states, regardless of the country of origin, is prohibited. At the same time, these goods will be returned back to the territory of the Russian Federation.

In order to prevent downtime at the borders, we urge foreign trade participants to strictly comply with customs legislation, as well as prohibitions and restrictions on the import and export of goods both from the territory of the EAEU and beyond.
