The Department of Economic Investigations in the Almaty region, together with employees of the Department of State Revenue in the Almaty region, has withdrawn 18.5 million tobacco products from illicit trafficking

 🚭 On the territory of the hotel and parking complex "Crystal", located 29 km away. routes Almaty-BishkekKaskelen, illegal tobacco products of cigarettes have been identified – 925 thousand packs (18.5 million smoking units). Contraband tobacco products without excise stamps were identified during the inspection by employees of the State Revenue Department for the Almaty region together with the Department of Economic Investigations for the Almaty region.

 

🚭 According to the results of the inspection, all materials were transferred to the DER in the Almaty region, with signs of violation under Article 233 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

🚭 The amount of damage of unpaid excise tax is 227.6 million tenge, the total cost of cigarettes amounted to 527.3 million tenge.

 

🚭 According to part 1 of Article 233 of the Criminal Code, for violation of the procedure and rules for marking excisable goods by means of identification and (or) accounting and control stamps, which caused significant damage, is punishable by a fine of up to one thousand monthly calculation indices or correctional labor in the same amount, or community service for up to four hundred hours, or restriction of liberty for up to one year, or imprisonment for the same period, with or without confiscation of property, with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
