Citizens of which countries can do business in Kazakhstan

Citizens of the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia who have a residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan can carry out business activities in our country.

Since January 1, 2017, registration as an individual entrepreneur has been transferred to the notification procedure, according to which, in order to register as an individual entrepreneur, an individual submits to the state revenue authority a notification of the beginning of activity as an individual entrepreneur.

Notification of the start of the activity can be sent through the egov portal.kz, mobile application "e-Salyq business", mobile applications of second-tier banks, as well as on paper through the Service Centers of state revenue agencies.

Registration is carried out within one working day from the date of submission of the notification. Information about the registration of an individual entrepreneur can be found on the website www.kgd.gov.kz in the "Search for taxpayers" tab. in Electronic services.

Please note that according to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Candace, as well as non-residents of the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia, permanently residing in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, i.e. having a residence permit in the Republic of Kazakhstan, can carry out activities as an individual entrepreneur.

The SRC also recalled that since January 1, 2021, the registration of non–resident individuals, foreigners and stateless persons, including the formation of IIN, amendments and (or) additions to registration data, as well as the exclusion of IIN of individuals from the competence of the State Revenue Committee has been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
