Detection of illegal gambling in Kapshagai

Since 29.03.2022, the Department of State Revenue in the Almaty region has been conducting raid measures aimed at countering the shadow economy and suppressing the activities of illegal gambling.

As a result of the events held in one of the Casinos on the territory of Kapshagai, it was found that in addition to officially registered objects, 50 clandestine slot machines were detected. These slot machines have been functioning for 4 months without registration with the state revenue authorities. The amount of unpaid tax for the specified period for 50 slot machines amounted to 36.3 million tenge.

An administrative offense case was initiated against the Casino under Article 275 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which resulted in a fine of 200% of the amount of hidden taxes, which amounted to 72.6 million tenge.

Currently, all slot machines have been registered and the monthly income to the budget from the activities of this Casino for all registered objects of taxation will amount to 182.5 million tenge.

The Department of State Revenue of the Almaty region informs that similar verification activities will continue on an ongoing basis, and therefore, calls on taxpayers to comply with the norms of tax legislation.
