Time Limits for the Delivery of Goods to the Customs Office of Destination

When goods are placed under the customs transit procedure, the customs office of departure establishes a period within which the goods must be delivered from the customs office of departure to the customs office of destination (hereinafter referred to as the customs transit period).

For goods transported by other types of transport, the customs transit period is set in accordance with the usual time required for transportation, based on the type of transport, the capabilities of the vehicle, the established transportation route, other transportation conditions and/or the declaration made by the declarant or carrier, as well as taking into account the requirements concerning the working and rest time of the driver of the vehicle in accordance with the international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan, but not exceeding the maximum customs transit period.

The maximum customs transit period shall not exceed the time calculated at the rate of two thousand kilometers per month, or the period determined by the Commission, taking into account the specific features of the transportation of goods placed under the customs transit procedure.

The customs transit period established by the customs authority may, upon a substantiated request from the declarant or carrier, be extended within the limits established by paragraph 3 of Article 224 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Customs Regulation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

The procedure for carrying out customs operations related to the extension of the customs transit period shall be determined by the Commission.
