Engineers of JSC " NC" KGS" AC MDDIAI RK presented an interactive map for planting 2 billion trees

Recently, the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a presentation of an interactive map for planting 2 billion trees developed by the specialists of JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary " AC MDDIAI RK on the instructions of the RSE" Kazakh forest management enterprise" MEGNR RK.

As you know, the President, in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan dated September 1, 2020, instructed to plant 2 billion trees and develop an interactive map to monitor the progress of these works. The planting of trees in the country's forest resources will be carried out over five years - from 2021 to 2025. This action will lead to a large-scale greening of our country.

During the presentation of the developed geoservice for monitoring the process of tree planting, the possibilities of an interactive map were demonstrated, including filling in and displaying information about planting seedlings by self-entering cartographic information on the spot by inspectors.

This geoservice is an overview map of tree planting in 14 regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main benefit of the project is the landscaping of the territory of Kazakhstan. It is planned that an interactive map based on remote sensing of the Earth will be available to the public in a mobile version. All interested persons, public organizations and every citizen of our country will be able not only to follow this work, but also send their proposals, comments to the authorized body.

As our experts note, the interactive map will contain such data as: name institution, branch and forestry (if any), quarter, allotment, area in hectares, with differentiation of sowing or planting, species and number of trees, information on previously planted forest cultures.

Will be taken into account - the total and producing area, the year of sowing, the amount of planting material according to the inventory in the context of breeds. This list will also include information on the availability and procurement, purchase of seeds and excavation of planting material.

The project received a positive assessment from the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currently, work is underway to develop and upload the obtained data to the geoportal.
