KazAID representatives took part in the OECD WP-STAT meeting in Paris
From 3 to 5 March 2025, a meeting of the OECD Working Party on Statistics on Financing for Development (WP-STAT) was held in Paris with the participation of KazAID's Director of Partnerships and Regional Projects Department K. Akhmetova and Department Manager T. Tulkibayev.
New methodologies were considered, including the use of AI to analyse data on pandemics and digitalisation, metrics on sustainable development, climate and migration, and official development assistance (ODA) transparency and effectiveness. Participants discussed accounting and reporting methods for financing for development, including accounting for private investment in development assistance, support to multilateral organisations, the role of non-State donors, forms of in-kind assistance, decoupling aid from donor conditions and reporting on gender and social projects.
The meeting resulted in new recommendations and reporting standards aimed at improving the monitoring and allocation of international aid, as well as strengthening donor coordination. This is important for development to be more transparent, efficient and aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
