Ermaganbet Bulekpayev met with employees of Balkhash thermal power plant

Akim of Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev stopped by a local thermal power plant to meet with employees during a working trip to Balkhash.

– As you know, I hold meetings with residents throughout the year, but there are not always representatives of working groups among them. That's why I came personally today to listen to your suggestions and questions. At the initiative of the President, this year has been declared the Year of Working Professions. The Head of State emphasized that working professions are the foundation of the economy. I want to thank you for your conscientious work and contribution to the development of the region," Ermaganbet Bulekpayev addressed the staff. – Representatives of various government agencies are here with me today. The issue of food prices was raised at the meeting. Mayor Sapar Satayev spoke about the communal market, where entrepreneurs will receive retail outlets without paying rent. Due to this, prices will decrease. The building is equipped with all necessary infrastructure, spacious and warm, with air conditioning, bathrooms. In addition, communal pavilions will be installed throughout the city. And in the supermarket they sell potatoes at a social price.

There was also talk about the development of the city. A lot of criticism on the roads. They could not be repaired promptly, because a large-scale reconstruction of engineering networks is underway in the city. As new pipes are laid, the roadbed is being restored.

According to the mayor of the city, it is planned to restore asphalt pavement, lighting poles and pedestrian sidewalks on four streets this year – Agybai-batyr, Kadyrzhanov, Abai, Pobedonostsev. The average repair will cover the roads of 18 streets with a length of 17.6 km.

Last year, repairs of facades and roofs of high-rise buildings were undertaken in Balkhash. This year, funds have been allocated from the regional budget to repair 70 houses.

The city's bus fleet has been updated, and utility companies are also updating their equipment.

The issue of housing remains relevant. At the meeting, the director of the Otbasy Bank branch, Baurzhan Zhuasbayev, spoke about the new Nauryz Zhumyker mortgage program specifically for working professions. It starts on March 17, 2025. Advantages: initial payment – from 10% (primary housing in finishing), from 20% (rough finishing and secondary housing); the rate is 7% for socially vulnerable categories, 9% for the rest.

During the working trip, Ermaganbet Bulekpayev also visited industrial facilities of Kazakhmys company. He got acquainted with the work of Kazakhmys Progress LLP, where they began to produce technical selenium using a new vacuum distillation technology developed by scientists from the Institute of Metallurgy and Enrichment of the K. Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University.

In addition, the akim of the region looked at the production of the precious metals workshop of the Balkhash Copper smelter.

He was also shown the analytical laboratory of the Kazakhmys group of companies.
