The synchronized swimmer from Temirtau was congratulated on the historical gold

For the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, Nargiz Bolatova, an athlete from Temirtau, managed to win gold at the World Aquatics Championships. The winner and her coach Elena Kotova were congratulated at the Karaganda regional Akimat and awarded certificates for 1.5 million tenge.

20-year-old Nargiz Bolatova won the historic gold in artistic swimming in a mix duet with Eduard Kim. Athletes from 25 countries competed at the international championship in Qatar.

Deputy Akim of Karaganda region Yerlan Kusayyn congratulated the Temirtau athlete and her coach on their successful performance. He noted the good coaching and high achievements of Karaganda athletes.

– This is the first gold of independent Kazakhstan at the World Aquatics Championships. It is doubly pleasant that Nargiz recently became the bronze medalist of the Asian Games in China. I wish you not to stop at what you have achieved and new victories! Yerlan Kusayin said.

Nargiz Bolatova has been practicing synchronized swimming since she was 6 years old. She is an international master of sports, captain of the national aquatics team of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Multiple winner of national and world championships.

– I trained hard for a long time to win the championship gold. There were strong rivals. I had to try very hard to show emotions, theater on the water. But at the same time, it was necessary to demonstrate the complexity of the program. It was easy with Edward. He's a talented guy, we helped each other. Now I will prepare for the next stages of the World Cup. I hope that mixed duets will still be included in the Olympic Games program in 2028," Nargiz shared her plans.

Today, the national artistic swimming team includes seven representatives of the Karaganda region. All of them are pupils of the Honored coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elena Kotova.

– It is deserved that Nargiz won gold. She is very persistent and hardworking. She always had a goal, and she persevered towards it. I would like everyone in the national team to be like Nargiz. Synchronized swimming is popular in Temirtau. A lot of girls come, we accept all of them. The main thing is that the child wants to achieve something himself, and we are already supporting and guiding," says Elena Kotova, senior artistic swimming coach of the Karaganda region.
