The Head of State received Akim of Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev

The President heard a report on the results of the socio-economic development of the Karaganda region in 2023. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed that in 11 months the volume of industrial production amounted to 3.1 trillion tenge. Investments in fixed assets increased by 16.3% and reached 727 billion tenge.

According to Ermaganbet Bulekpayev, growth has been achieved in the manufacturing industries: mechanical engineering – by 45%, light industry – by 23.9%, pharmaceuticals – by 20%. The increase is also noted in the paper industry, construction industry and ferrous metallurgy.

The small and medium-sized business sector employs 45% of the active population of the region, and more than 100,000 companies operate. For entrepreneurs, the retail tax has been reduced from 4 to 2%. In 2024, it is planned to increase the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross regional product from 19 to 25%.

According to the governor of the region, the creation of more than 25 thousand jobs in all sectors of the economy has reduced the unemployment rate to 4.1% and poverty to 2.7%. Real incomes of the population increased by 4.7%.

The President was informed about the progress of the heating season, as well as about the current situation at the backbone enterprise Qarmet. Ermaganbet Bulekpayev spoke about the measures taken by the new investor to stabilize and increase production, as well as plans to modernize and ensure the safety of the company's employees.

In the social sphere, the construction of 92 rural health facilities has begun, as well as the modernization of two inter-district hospitals. According to the "Comfortable School" project, 10 facilities are being built with completion in 2024, which will provide 7,100 places for schoolchildren.

In addition, the mayor reported on the state of the social sphere, the implementation of the projects "Auyl – El besigi" and "Auyl Amanaty".

Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions for the further development of the region and improving the welfare of residents. The Head of State also noted the need to keep the situation at Qarmet's facilities under special control.
