The XXX International Competition of Young Performers was held on the basis of the Akhmet Zhubanov Republican Specialized Music School for Gifted Children in Almaty. The saxophonist from Karaganda was awarded the Grand Prix.

More than 200 musicians from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia took part in the competition. They demonstrated their skills in playing string, wind and percussion instruments.

Karaganda Regional Specialized music boarding school was represented by 25 students, 13 of them became laureates, seven received diplomas.

The Grand Prix was won by a student of the 12th "B" class Daria Vanyukova (saxophone).
– I've been playing the saxophone for the 5th year. At the competition, she performed works by French composers of the XX century, as well as our Kazakh composer Ermurat Usenov. Creative competitions are always a crucial moment for which you prepare in advance. And this time I have been actively engaged since August. The musicians who participated in the competition are strong, so it's a great honor for me to be noticed. After graduation, I plan to continue my saxophone studies at the Kurmangazy Conservatory," Daria said.

The Akhmet Zhubanov Competition has a 30-year history. It was first held in 1993 in the format of a festival for pianists. And after a while, other tools were included in his program. Since then, the competition has been held annually.

For gifted children, it is a way not only to express themselves, but also an opportunity for creative development, and for teachers, it is an exchange of experience, an increase in the level of professionalism.
