Ermaganbet Bulekpayev met with the US Ambassador to Kazakhstan

The US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum paid a study visit to the Karaganda region. At the meeting with the head of the region, Ermaganbet Bulekpayev, they discussed the situation in the economy, opportunities for developing cooperation in education.

– Karaganda region is an industrial region. The economy is based on ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, mining and mechanical engineering. Since the beginning of the year, the region's foreign trade turnover has amounted to 2.5 billion US dollars. Local products are exported to 54 countries, including the USA. There are 6 enterprises with the participation of American companies operating in the region. They work in such areas as trade, construction, mining, real estate transactions, education," Yermaganbet Bulekpayev said.

The Governor of the region stressed his readiness to create favorable conditions for opening joint ventures and attracting foreign investment. The implementation of projects is possible in the territories of the "Saryarka" Free Economic Zone and the Saran industrial zone.

– During my diplomatic mission, I try to visit all regions of Kazakhstan. Arrived in Karaganda region to get acquainted with the situation in the region. It is interesting to learn as much as possible about the state of the economy," said Daniel Rosenblum.

The Ambassador was interested in the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

– The development of SMEs is one of the priorities. We are creating the most favorable conditions – this includes reducing administrative barriers, state support measures, and the possibility of obtaining preferential loans. There are regional support programs. The number of business entities is growing annually. The existing production facilities are expanding and new enterprises are opening," Yermaganbet Bulekpayev replied.

According to the ambassador, he plans to visit some enterprises in the region. In addition, a meeting with students studying English was held in the American Corner of the N. V. Gogol Library. Daniel Rosenblum also talked with the rectors of Karaganda universities.
