More than 1,900 people participated in the athletics relay for the prizes of the newspaper "Industrial Karaganda"

The 76th athletics relay race of the regional newspaper "Industrial Karaganda" dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Great Victory and Defender of the Fatherland Day was held in Karaganda. This year, more than 1,900 people participated in the sports race.

"This year 181 teams took part in the relay – 99 men's and 82 women's. The total number was 1,810 participants of the relay race, 100 running enthusiasts took part in the Druzhba race," the Department of Physical Culture and Sports noted.

The most numerous and active teams were groups of secondary school students.

Nadezhda Rimer is studying in the seventh grade of the Saken Seifullin Gymnasium. She is 13 years old. She has been involved in sports since early childhood, but she participated in the relay for the first time.

– I've been doing acrobatics for eight years, I love sports. He disciplines. A school friend called me to the relay. I ran 300 meters. I think I will be able to increase the distance in the future," says Nadia.

Students and teachers of colleges and universities also participated in the race. The team of Karaganda Medical University showed special cohesion.

– Our team on behalf of the medical University is officially participating in the relay for the second year. And personally, I and many of our people have been running for about 10 years. We have repeatedly been among the winners," says team captain Aibek Makhmet. – Sport unites people. Every year the number of participants increases. Our team is also growing. The secret of our unity is that we all love active recreation.

A resident of Karaganda, Tatiana Muntyan, has been taking part in the athletics relay since the sixth grade. She is 69 years old. She worked for 27 years as a physical education teacher at school No. 5. Now she trains children in the Presidential All-around.

– I am a multiple Asian champion in athletics, in the Presidential all-around. Sport is with me all my life. I advise young people to go in for sports, because it is not only useful, but also fashionable, – says Tatiana.

This year, 15 men's and four women's teams participated in the race in the group "production teams". According to the organizers of the relay, this is the largest number of participants over the past 20 years. The first place among male production workers was taken by the team of JSC "ArcelorMittal Temirtau".

– We have a team of employees from the steel and coal departments. We participated in both the relay race and the 1.4-kilometer race. We have trained guys in our team, many of them work underground. We also constantly hold such sports competitions at home, we educate our youth," says Islyam Muslimov, a veteran of production and sports at the Tentekskaya mine. – Sport gives a positive mood. It's not about winning a prize or winning, the main thing is participation. Here at such events you are charged with positive energy.

The first places among the school teams were won by boys and girls of the gymnasium school No. 45, as well as schools No. 64 and 11.

Among college students, the best results were shown by boys and girls of Karaganda Bolashaq Higher College, as well as the teams of the boarding school-College named after A. Moldagulova.

Among the organizations and sports clubs, the women's team of Karaganda Medical University and the "Barys" team distinguished themselves. Veterans, health groups, athletes with disabilities, running enthusiasts took part in the "Druzhba" race.

The winners and prize-winners were presented with gifts.
