40 works are presented at the exhibition "Faces of Victory" in the Karaganda Regional Museum of Fine Arts. Many of them were painted by artists who participated in the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition presents paintings about the war, victory and exploits, as well as portraits of heroes. 499 Kazakhstanis were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

The exhibition will last until May 14.

– The paintings were painted by different artists at different times, but they are all dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. And of particular importance among them are the works of Karaganda residents, directly front-line soldiers. We also decided to show paintings by contemporary artists. Among the exhibition works is "The Song of the Red Tulip" by Serik Orazgulov, it depicts Kasym Amanzholov, who passed through the crucible of war. Karaganda artist Raimkul Yesirkeev, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, painted portraits of fellow countrymen – Heroes of the Soviet Union. The painter Abram Cherkassky was also a participant in the war. And at the exhibition you can see his work "Forcing the Dnieper", – said Aigul Omarova, a researcher at the museum and curator of the exhibition.

Museum lessons are also organized for the Victory Day.
