50 start-up entrepreneurs received grants from the akim of the Karaganda region

At the end of the year, another 50 young residents of the region got a chance to build a new business or expand an existing one. Their business ideas won the competition of grants of the Akim of the Karaganda region for the development and support of youth entrepreneurship.

300 applications were submitted for participation in the competition. A special commission selected 50 of the most relevant business projects. Their authors received 2 million tenge each.

The first 10 grants to aspiring and active young entrepreneurs were presented by the Akim of the Karaganda region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev during a meeting of the Youth Affairs Council.

The youth of the region tries themselves in various fields – from the production of metal structures and furniture to the provision of medical, educational and construction services.

A resident of the Osakarovka district, Meiremkhan Toleubai, adopted the skill of making national musical instruments from his grandfather. With the grant, a young businessman is going to purchase the necessary equipment and open a workshop in the future. In the meantime, Meiremkhan is working in an annex to his own house.

– My main goal is the development of national crafts. Since ancient times, Kazakhs have been engaged in the manufacture of musical instruments, tableware, souvenirs, chests, etc. And now household items and handmade art are in great demand. It takes me a month to make three dombres. With the help of machines, 10 musical instruments can already be made in the same time. I will spend the money on the purchase of woodworking equipment. I also do sewing, so I need a sewing machine. The grant will allow me to develop in my profession," Meiremkhan Toleubai believes.

Four months ago, Shyngys Kadyrbayev from the village of Nura opened a workshop for the production of household soap. According to the novice entrepreneur, his detergent is not inferior to analogues from the CIS countries in quality, while it is much cheaper. Soap is in demand in the Karaganda and Akmola regions.

– My father advised me to take up such a business. We have our own household chemicals store. We see how all foreign products are becoming more expensive. We thought, why not produce household soap ourselves, because this is a daily consumption product. They began to study the market, build a workshop. Then I took out a loan and bought equipment. I have employed two people through the Employment Center. I will spend the grant funds on expanding my business – I will purchase additional machines," says Shyngys Kadyrbayev.

Gulmira Torezhanova, a third-year student of Karaganda Medical University, plans to open a first aid training center. She, like no one else, knows that correctly and timely assistance in an emergency situation can save a life.

– According to statistics, in 70% of cases, the cause of death is associated with improper provision of first aid to the doctor, that is, with the omission of the "golden time". Everyone should be able to provide medical care in emergency situations. The reasons why I started participating in the grant competition are the desire to know, to study, to do something that benefits society, to be a child who justifies the hopes of parents, to be a citizen who will become the pride of his country," says Gulmira Torezhanova.

Ermaganbet Bulekpayev wished young entrepreneurs to realize all their plans.
