New akim of Karaganda region is presented to the asset of the region

A meeting of deputies of maslikhats of all levels of the Karaganda region was held in Karaganda with the participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu.

Two candidates for the post of akim of the region – Aimakov Serzhan Zhanabekovich and Bulekpayev Ermaganbet Kabdulovich were presented to the deputies for consideration. The corresponding letter of the Head of State was read by Alikhan Smailov.

The results of the open vote were as follows: the candidacy of S. Aimakov was supported by 40 deputies, 138 deputies voted for E. Bulekpayev. A total of 178 deputies took part in the meeting.

At a meeting with the region's assets, the Prime Minister noted that the regional leadership should continue implementing measures to develop the regional economy, infrastructure, entrepreneurship and the social sphere.

One of the priorities Alikhan Smailov called the prevention of a sharp and unjustified increase in prices for socially important food products.

"We need to work to saturate the market with high-quality products of domestic production. Its wide range and large quantity will restrain the price growth. Akimat needs to work on this," he said.

In addition, the Prime Minister focused on a number of other priority issues. Thus, the situation at ArcelorMittal Temirtau is of serious concern, where there are low rates of modernization and deterioration of the technological state, and neglect of industrial safety leads to an increase in the number of deaths.

He noted that today another tragedy occurred at the factory, as a result of which an employee of the enterprise died.

"All this is the direct responsibility of the company's management. In this regard, they have been presented with claims in all areas of deterioration of the situation. Now the government has entered into active negotiations to resolve these issues," Alikhan Smailov stressed.

He also noted the need to generally work to reduce the negative impact of industrial production on the environmental situation, the development of the Saran industrial zone, the training of qualified specialists, to keep under control the issues of timely payment of salaries and the prevention of accidents at work.
