In Karaganda region, the volume of SME production exceeded 2 trillion tenge

In the Karaganda region, small and medium-sized businesses provide jobs for 42% of the employed population. The role of this sector in the region's economy is constantly growing. However, there are problems that need to be solved.

What hinders business development, entrepreneurs were able to openly tell at a meeting with the head of the region Zhenis Kasymbek and Chairman of the Presidium of NCE "Atameken" Raimbek Batalov.

– Business is very active in the Karaganda region. We conduct the practice of quarterly meetings with the business community. The goal is to identify a range of systemic problems. It is important for us not just to discuss, but to find solutions to them. We work in close cooperation with the local executive authorities. This is necessary to create a more favorable climate for entrepreneurship," Raimbek Batalov said.

There are almost 90 thousand business entities in the region today.

– The region maintains positive dynamics of socio-economic development. This is a significant role of small and medium-sized businesses. The volume of production in this sector has reached over 2 trillion tenge. This is comparable to the volumes of Kazakhmys Corporation and ArcelorMittal Temirtau. SMEs provide jobs for about 202 thousand people – this is 42% of the employed population of the region,– Zhenis Kasymbek said.

The meeting was held in the format of a free microphone. Entrepreneurs raised issues related to business protection, taxation, logistics and infrastructure. For example, businessmen are asking to completely reconsider the practice of invalidating transactions. They are also concerned about the activities of shadow preschool organizations.

We were able to give answers and explanations to some questions immediately during the dialogue. On a number of other issues, we agreed to organize additional meetings with the participation of interested organizations.

The akim of the region instructed to conduct a thorough analysis of each appeal. At the meeting, it was noted that only those who work transparently and openly can count on the help of the state.
