Karaganda residents won five medals for three at the World Grappling Championship

The World Grappling Wrestling Championship among young people was held in Pontevedra (Spain). Three representatives of the Karaganda region won five medals.

A fighter from Temirtau Zhanuzak Aitbayev took gold. The athlete had three victorious fights: first with a Spaniard, then with a fighter from Kyrgyzstan and a fellow countryman from Kazakhstan.

Amirzhan Sikhimbayev became a silver and bronze medalist.

Janelle Kusainova also climbed the podium twice. The girl has two bronze medals in her piggy bank.

– The result is more than good! The competition is incredible – over a thousand participants from 64 countries. High level of athletes. Excellent organization of competitions. In general, we are very satisfied and we will prepare to conquer new peaks," said Vadim Bramontov, senior grappling coach of the Karaganda region.
