During the working trip, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan Monica Iversen visited the Karaganda region. Prospects for the development of cooperation were discussed at a meeting with the head of the region Denis Kasymbek.

There are 67 joint ventures in various sectors of the economy in the region. A number of major projects have been implemented with the participation of German capital. Among them are the Linde Gas Kazakhstan industrial gas production plant and the construction of solar power plants in Saran and Agadyr.
The number of joint ventures is growing every year. This is facilitated by the creation of an industrial zone in Saran and a special economic zone "Saryarka" in Karaganda on the territory of the region.
– We are interested in attracting German companies and are ready to create favorable conditions for them to implement joint ventures. I am sure that there is a huge potential for further building up mutual cooperation," Zhenis Kasymbek said.
The region is also interested in training highly qualified specialists. And professionals from Germany can help with this. Currently, close cooperation has been established in the field of technical and vocational education. In Temirtau Higher Polytechnic College, together with Evonik Industries AG, specialists are being trained on the basis of the German model of dual training. Since 2015, teachers and students of the college have been interning at the training center, which is located in the city of Darmstadt.

Monica Iversen also noted the great economic potential of the Karaganda region and the fact that German companies will really have good opportunities and prospects for business development in the region.
– This year is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of German-Kazakh relations. It has been 30 years of successful and very close work, especially in the field of economics," said Monica Iversen.
