At a meeting with the public of the Karaganda region, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid special attention to the development of single-industry towns, the press service of Akorda reports.
According to the Head of State, over time they should get rid of excessive dependence on large industrial enterprises.
– Industrial giants have good opportunities to support local businesses through outsourcing mechanisms. Single-industry towns should develop as clean, compact, prosperous and "green" settlements. Only in this case they will become the growth points of the region," he said. – The problem of small towns is a significant deterioration of engineering infrastructure. Large investments are needed to solve this problem. The government needs to increase the amount of funds allocated for the repair of utility networks of single-industry towns.
In addition, Kasymzhomart Tokayev instructed the government to complete the formation of the infrastructure of the Saran industrial zone in 2023.
The Head of State also noted that the industrial development of the region should not go to the detriment of the interests of citizens and the quality of people's lives. Environmental issues raised by the population should be monitored by the relevant ministry.
