56 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the Karaganda region on July 12. Since the third decade of June, there has been an increase in the number of cases of CVI in the region.
This was stated at a briefing on the platform of the Regional Communications Service by the chief sanitary doctor of the region Yuri Zalygin.

– Since the beginning of the pandemic, 151,753 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the region, 150,042 people have recovered. If in April and May there were no more than 10 cases of CVI per month, then in June there were already 39, and in 12 days of July 246 cases of coronavirus were registered, – says Yuri Zalygin. – Mostly unvaccinated citizens and those vaccinated more than a year ago who have not been revaccinated against coronavirus are infected with COVID-19.
To date, vaccination coverage in the region with the first component has amounted to 75.2%, or 674,537 people, the second component has vaccinated 70.5%, or 632,394 residents of the region. 239,928 people underwent revaccination. Repeated revaccination – 14,671.
Three vaccines are available to the population: "Komirnati", "KazVak" and "Verosel".
– Once again I want to remind you about preventive measures. We recommend observing social distancing, using antiseptics. The only specific measure for the prevention of coronavirus infection is vaccination, therefore, residents of our region need to be vaccinated in a timely manner. Those persons who have received two components of the vaccine against CVI and who have had more than 6 months after that, need to be revaccinated," Yuri Zalygin added.
The incidence of viral hepatitis A, chronic viral hepatitis, parenteral hepatitis, pediculosis is decreasing in the region, and the situation of meningococcal infection is stable. At the same time, there is an increase in the incidence of acute intestinal infections, brucellosis and tuberculosis.
