In the Karaganda region, at seven o'clock in the morning, polling stations opened for holding a national referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There are 777 of them in the region. According to the regional election commission, more than 880 thousand participants of the referendum have been registered.

The first voters have already come to the polling stations, having shown civic consciousness and made their choice.

At the site No. 17 of Karaganda, located in the Palace of Culture of Miners, 2,082 participants of the referendum were registered.

Altai Oralbayev, a pensioner, was one of the first to vote here.
– I live nearby. I go out for physical exercises every morning. Today I came to cast my vote first. I think a civil position is important for everyone. The future of our country depends on us," the Karaganda resident shared.

The voting process is monitored by observers from parties and public associations.
It should be recalled that in Kazakhstan, for the first time, amendments to the Constitution are being made at a national referendum. Citizens of Kazakhstan who have reached the age of eighteen have the right to participate.
