A new tourist route was presented in the Karaganda region

The Karaganda Regional Museum of Local History told about the tourist route through the Taldy Historical and Archaeological Park. Its opening will increase the flow of visitors to the park and develop the tourist infrastructure of the region.

The tourist route was presented by the museum staff, the head of the Department of Culture, Archives and Documentation Yerkebulan Zhumakenov, scientists of the Saryarka Archaeological Institute at the Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov and the head of the Center for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage Tulkibai Tuleuov. They summed up the results of research and restoration work for more than three years.

- During this time, archaeological research and restoration work were carried out on a number of monuments of the park, as well as the Sak’s mounds of the early Iron Age Karazhartas-2, the medieval Turkic fences of Akbauyr and the Golden Horde mausoleum of Kotyrtas. In addition, excavations were carried out in a large settlement of the Bronze Age Akkezen, which suggested that there was an ancient urban civilization in the late Bronze Age, – says Yerkebulan Zhumakenov.

To date, about 25 objects of the Taldy Park have been investigated.

The open-air museum will become a branch of the Local history museum. The park plans to equip toilets, yurts and collapsible prefabricated panel houses.

During the presentation, a video about the unique park was shown. Representatives of travel agencies were able to ask their questions.

The open-air park is located 120 km from Karaganda, in the valley of the Taldy River, surrounded by the Kotyrtas and Kyzyltau mountains, and is a place of concentration of all historical periods: stone, Bronze, Early Iron Age and the Middle Ages.
