Karaganda region has set a record for housing construction

The Karaganda region has reached a historical maximum in housing commissioning. For the first time in 30 years, 662 thousand square meters will be commissioned this year. New neighborhoods appear where land has not been developed for many years.

– Compared to last year, we have a 25% increase in housing construction. For 9 months of 2021, about 400 thousand square meters of housing were put into operation– - said the head of the Department of Construction, Architecture and Urban Planning Abzal Zhailybayev. – This year we plan to hand over 662 thousand square meters.

Large-scale construction in the region has revived the local labor market and the production of building materials. Basically, everything domestic is used in the work. Developing local production was one of the main tasks of the regional akimat. More than 5 thousand people are provided with jobs in the construction sector.

With the introduction of new housing, the picture of priority also changes. Every year, according to the Nurly Zher program, 2-2.5 thousand apartments are allocated for socially vulnerable segments of the population. This is rental and credit housing - it all depends on the income of the waiting list.

By the end of the year, about 3 thousand waiting lists will be provided with housing in the Karaganda region. And the plans for the next one are to build already 830 thousand square meters.
