Zhenis Kassymbek met with Asian boxing champions from Karaganda

The governor of the region Zhenis Kassymbek met with boxers Milana Safronova and Abylaykhan Zhusupov.

We will remind, they won gold and silver medals at the Asian Boxing Championship in the weight categories up to 64 kg and 69 kg.

The athletes told the head of the region about their achievements and immediate plans.

Milana Safronova, like any athlete, dreams of participating in the Olympic Games. To do this, the girl eventually plans to move to the weight category up to 60 kg.

– I am very pleased that they support us. Athletes have even more motivation to achieve heights. I will now prepare for the World Cup, which will be held in Budapest in October. I will start working with a new coach, Alexander Strelnikov. He trained the Olympic champion Serik Sapiyev. If everything works out, I will probably take part in the next Olympic Games, – says Milana.

В свою очередь Абылайхан Жусупов тоже поделился тем, как он готовится к Олимпийским играм. 

– We recently arrived from the Asian Championship. After the next training camp in Almaty, the Olympic Games in Tokyo are waiting for us. The competitions will begin on July 23. There will be 24 boxers in my weight category. Of course, we watch their fights, analyze them-we are preparing for the most important competitions. I think that all the rivals are strong – Abylaykhan Zhusupov said.

Zhenis Kassymbek wished good luck to the boxers in the upcoming important competitions: Abylaykhan – at the Olympic Games, and Milan – at the World Championship.
