Bagdat Musin: "There is everything for the development of IT technologies in Karaganda»

For the development of the IT industry, three elements are needed: talented specialists, hubs for bringing together people of similar spirit, and venture capital investments. The first two components are working successfully in Karaganda. The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bagdat Musin was personally convinced of this when he visited the Karaganda IT-hub during his working trip. Together with the governor of the region Zhenis Kasymbek, he held a meeting with the local IT community.

I must say that the "Terricon Valley" was launched in 2014. Its founders set an ambitious goal – to develop the ecosystem in Karaganda. And today it is being successfully implemented.

IT-hub is a platform for creating an IT community and finding a job. Professional development events are regularly held here. Every week, IT and digital specialists meet with representatives of large companies in Karaganda. Community members receive orders and offers from local and foreign organizations, from investors and potential partners.

The meeting discussed topical issues in the field of information technology. Based on the realities of the region, it was about the introduction of innovations and start-ups at large industrial enterprises of the region. Now everyone understands that it is digitalization that will keep the market position.

Bagdat Musin also shared the plans of his ministry. These are investment grants, venture capital investments and the creation of IT schools. According to him, our region has a great potential that should be developed.

"The IT community in Karaganda is very cool. It is able to give birth to grandiose projects. There are IT specialists and an entrepreneurial spirit here, and most importantly, there is the support of the akimat. Therefore, the "Terricon Valley" has a great future. Now the akimat of the region is faced with the task of distributing smart elements that were born in Karaganda throughout the region," Bagdat Musin said.

The Minister also got acquainted with the projects of the Center for Urban Studies. Noting the importance of their work for the city and the creativity of its employees, he wished them new ideas and close cooperation with the authorities and residents of the city.

For your information, the Karaganda IT-hub works in two directions. The first is the acceleration program. It is aimed at the process of accelerated development of startups at an early stage. The second, more generalized program is incubation. Here the participants have more opportunities. Access to the knowledge base, advice from experts, assistance in attracting investment.
