Opportunities for investors are increasing in the Karaganda region

The Saryarka Special Economic Zone in the Karaganda region is set to expand. Three new sub-zones are being established in Balkhash and in the Karkaraly and Bukhar-Zhyrau districts. This will create additional opportunities to attract investors. Land plots equipped with ready-made engineering infrastructure will be provided for new projects.

Two of the sub-zones are intended for the development of tourism in the region.

"Conditions will be created in the Balkhash sub-zone for the construction of modern hotel complexes and restaurants, as well as new service and leisure facilities. In the initial phase, the project is expected to attract approximately 26.5 billion tenge in investment and create over 600 jobs," reported Askar Gazaliev, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry.

In the Karkaraly District, it will be easier to develop various types of tourism, including eco-tourism, ethnographic, wellness, and sports tourism, among others.

In the Bukhar-Zhyrau District, near the village of Sevan, a 40-hectare site is being allocated for an industrial sub-zone. Plans are in place to implement ten new projects.

Estimates indicate that the expansion of the Special Economic Zone will bring approximately 90 billion tenge in investment to the region and create 2,000 new jobs.
