Qarmet expands production: new rolling mill is being built in Temirtau

Qarmet has started the active phase of construction of a new rolling mill in Temirtau. The first metal support has already been installed on the site — this is one of the main stages of the project and the actual start of the formation of the frame of the future production workshop.

The new complex will be part of a large-scale modernization program for the metallurgical plant and will allow the company to significantly expand its output of high-value-added products.

The design capacity of the new rolling mill will be more than 540 thousand tons of products per year. It plans to produce high-strength fittings of the A600 and A1000 grades, as well as new types of metal products in demand both in Kazakhstan and abroad, including corners and channels.

The construction is being carried out as part of Qarmet's strategy for technological renewal of production, increased efficiency and the development of modern processing facilities. The implementation of the project will allow the company to strengthen its position in the construction metal market.

Currently, Qarmet is simultaneously implementing several major investment projects. Among them are the construction of coke batteries No. 8-9, the launch of a new hot—dip galvanizing and polymer coating line, as well as the construction of a modern foundry and rolling complex.
