Construction of one of the country's largest wind farms with a capacity of 500 MW has started in the Osakarov district The project with investments of more than $ 600 million promises not only to provide the region with energy but also to significantly change the energy map of the Karaganda region

The project was launched with the participation of Kazakhstani and Chinese partners The construction is being carried out by SamrukEnergy JSC jointly with China Energy International Group within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement between Kazakhstan and China

The time capsule was laid by representatives of government and business at the base of the future station

— The construction of the station is one of the key strategic initiatives We are talking about the development of green energy which the President has identified as a priority This is an important event for the region new facilities technologies and jobs" said Ermaganbet Bulekpayev, Akim of the Karaganda region

It is planned to install 63 modern wind turbines in the area of Saryozek village Each is 120 meters high with blades 80 meters long These will be the largest facilities of this type in Kazakhstan
— The new plant will provide the region with stable energy and give an impetus to the development of the region" said Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Board of JSC SamrukKazyna
The project is also focused on the introduction of advanced technologies
— The latest generation of wind turbines will be used and the processes will be controlled using artificial intelligence" said Kairat Maksutov, head of SamrukEnergo JSC
It is planned to create about 600 jobs during the construction phase After the station is put into operation, permanent jobs will be available for its maintenance

The Chinese side has significant experience in the field of wind energy before the start of construction, China Energy International Group specialists conducted detailed studies including wind speed measurements and the preparation of a feasibility study
The plant is expected to generate about 1.8 billion kWh of electricity per year It is planned to put the facility into operation in the first quarter of 2029
The choice of the site is not accidental the Osakarov district is located in a zone of stable winds especially on the Osakarovka Saryuzek Telman section A 150 MW wind energy project is already being implemented here
It is expected that the development of wind farms will not only strengthen the region's position in the field of "green" energy but also bring additional tax revenues as well as create new jobs
