The role of youth science in the development of digital technologies was discussed in Karaganda

Digital technologies and artificial intelligence in mechanical engineering metallurgy and energy on the basis of Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov, the republican student scientific conference "Contribution of youth science to the development of innovative and digital technologies" was held dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh public and statesman scientist and the first Kazakh professor of mathematics Alimkhan Ermekov

The meeting was timed to coincide with Science Day and became a platform for the presentation of student research

More than 900 reports from universities in the country as well as from near and far abroad, were received to participate in the conference At the plenary session, eight students presented their work and then discussions continued in sections in 14 areas from IT and artificial intelligence to Smart Energy radioelectronic systems mining and metallurgical complex mechanical engineering transport and logistics as well as economics chemical and biological sciences and digital solutions in construction

According to the organizers modern science is increasingly developing at the intersection of disciplines

— Previously, scientific fields developed separately mechanics then electronics and computers but today the boundaries between them are blurred An engineer of the future must master the basics of programming artificial intelligence, and data analysis Interdisciplinarity is becoming the main trend in the development of science" says Ali Mehdiyev Vice-rector for Science and Innovation at Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University

Today, young scientists are working on applied tasks that can be implemented in industry and digital services in the near future One of these projects was a study on the use of augmented reality glasses in the diagnosis and training of personnel when working with electrical equipment

— We considered various options for the implementation of the technology and the possibilities of its application for diagnosis and training In the future, this can become the basis for creating digital counterparts of equipment and more accurately predicting its condition" said Dilara Zhakubekova, a participant in the conference

Another study was devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in logistics in Kazakhstan A student of the Technical University Aknur Yerdimurat, reviewed the main problems encountered in the implementation of AI technologies and outlined possible approaches to their solution, taking into account the specifics of the industry

All student projects were carried out in teams under the guidance of teachers This format allows students to be involved in research activities already at the undergraduate level to develop practical skills and interest in science If a student enters the master's program in the future he can continue the project and bring it to a full result
