In Karaganda, environmental improvement will be carried out jointly with scientists

A comprehensive environmental study will be conducted in Karaganda, which will cover air, water, soil and green spaces. The project is designed for two years: experts will analyze the situation by season, install sensors in the city and launch an online monitoring system. As a result, we must work out specific measures to make the city cleaner and safer for life.

The project was presented to the governor of the region Ermaganbet Bulekpayev. The head of the region noted that ecology needs to be dealt with systematically.

— You all know that the new Constitution enshrines environmental safety. We need to deal with this issue closely. The health of the population and the quality of life depend on this, — emphasized Ermaganbet Bulekpayev.

Mayor of Karaganda Meiram Kozhukhov said that the development of a comprehensive plan to improve the environmental situation has already begun with the involvement of the company "Ecoservice-S." According to him, the research will take two years, and interim results will appear in the process.

— There are problematic issues, such as the high level of man—made pollution, emissions from enterprises, and the use of coal in the energy sector and the private sector. We will receive data on individual areas, set tasks and work them out immediately. We will see the dynamics in a year, — the mayor of the city promised.

The head of Ecoservice-S LLP, Galym Berkinbayev, presented the technical part of the project. According to him, the company has everything it needs: mobile laboratories, monitoring stations, and specialized programs. More than a hundred specialists work.

— We need the exact share of each source in the total pollution. We plan to install automated stations throughout the city, as well as about 200-250 sensors. A comprehensive air analysis will be carried out by mobile laboratories, and the data will be sent online to the situation center, — said Galym Berkinbayev. — Whoever has the information can make strategic decisions. You will see the real picture online.

He added that the study will cover not only the environment and green spaces, but also the impact of ecology on human health.

The akim of the region instructed to develop a Roadmap for the implementation of the project, start practical work and gradually report on the results.
