Karaganda athletes took four gold and two silver medals at the Asian Cycling Championships

Athletes from the Karaganda region won six medals at the Asian Track Cycling Championships, which were held in Tagaytay (Philippines). They have won four gold and two silver awards.

Kirill Kurdidi, a cyclist from Temirtau, who became the best in the one-kilometer race, brought the gold medal to the national team.

Aruzhan Kabdulova, who successfully competed in the team and pair races, won two more gold medals. She took second place in the group points race.

Aliya Bukayeva, a pupil of the regional specialized boarding school-College of the Olympic Reserve, also received a gold award in the team race.

Ilya Karabutov from the School of Higher Sports Skills won another silver medal in the Madison doubles race.

– The athletes showed their best results. My expectations as a coach have been fully fulfilled. It was a difficult race, with strong opponents. The athletes from China and Japan were especially serious, we had already lost to them before, so it was very important to win over them now," said Sergey Ulbricht, senior cycling coach of the Karaganda region.

Despite the intense struggle and high results, athletes do not expect a long rest. Intensive preparations for the Asian Games, which will be held in Japan this fall, are ahead.
