Young roboticists from Karaganda region will represent Kazakhstan in the USA and China

At the Alem Tech Fest 2026, several teams of Karaganda schoolchildren won championship titles, international vouchers and educational grants. More than five thousand students from seven countries took part in the large-scale technology forum. They competed in different age categories: they programmed and assembled robots, developed their own projects and solved engineering problems.

Following the results of the festival, the jury formed the Kazakhstan national robotics team — it included 16 of the best teams in the country. Among them is a team of JELTOQSUN high school students from the Murager Karaganda school. The guys competed in the First Tech Challenge category and became absolute champions, gaining the right to represent Kazakhstan at the world stage in Houston (USA).

This is not the first time that the JELTOQSUN team has won. It consists of 13 students in grades 9-11. The previous two years, the students also performed in Houston, where they won bronze medals both times.

— Of course, these victories are important and are a huge plus both for the whole school and for the students themselves, — says Ardak Syzdyk, deputy director of the Murager School.

In addition to JELTOQSUN, Murager School was represented by two more teams — Astrix and 571, which include students in grades 7-9.

They performed in the "robodesign" category and also achieved high results, winning tickets to the championship in China. In addition, two students of the school received grants to study at universities.

The Karaganda region was well represented at the festival by the pupils of the Daryn school. The Asian Sharks team won the third place in the startup competition and received a grant of 25 thousand US dollars. The Ancient T-REX team has reached the finals and qualified for the Chinese FIRST LEGO League competition, which will be held in Beijing this August. Another student of the school received educational grants from two Almaty universities at once.

The pupils of the Karaganda boarding school "Bilim-Innovation" No. 1 also distinguished themselves. In the FLL Challenge category, they won the Strategy Genius Award.
